Our First Post!

Well first of all Jasper and I would like to say hello to everyone who have visited our blog. This is our first blog, and will be trying to keep everyone up to date on our daily mischief. We'll have pictures up soon to show our faces! Jasper and I will try to explain what life is like with a parrot. We'll let you know what their needs are and also their habits. Jasper loves to play, but sometimes needs his alone time. He can also get very lonely and demand attention! I honestly never thought I would ever own a parrot, until my fiancĂ©e decided she wanted one. Now where stuck with loud mouth Jasper. =) But that’s a good thing.

  1. I really enjoyed your humor. Is that a real picture of your bird or just a picture off the Internet? I didn't knokw a bird would allow you to put something on it's head like that.

  2. Haha, yea that's Jasper. He's awesome and will let you hold him and stay relaxed. My fiancee brought the little hats for him to chew on actually. He likes the material so he chews them up.

  3. If Jasper was in my house, my pug Ume, would be camped under the cage waiting for food.

  4. I love birds, my grandmother was a bird lover and she had a couple of birds that lived for many years. You mentioned that you are stuck with Jasper, well I read somewhere that parrots live for around 70 years so not only you are stuck with Jasper but your kids if you have any...

  5. Yea, Jasper will live up to 25 years. I think the bigger birds like African Grey's can live up to 60 years. It's fine though, he's part of the family now and will be for a while.

  6. He looks like a very pretty bird. I'll be fun to read about Jasper's little adventure and gain a little knowledge about birds. Jasper seems to have a long life ahead of him, but I'm sure he'll enjoy every minute of it.

  7. Seeing Jasper in person is different. The colors of his feathers just pop! If you have time, try and stop by a pet store or Pet-smart and check out the Conures then have. They also will let you hold them if you want.
